Day 2, and it was a busy one

Updated: Aug 9, 2018

(post and photos by Katelyn)

I began my second day in Germany by visiting the Wilhelmshaven city hall where my host sister Caroline and I met the exchange group. Inside we were all greeted by the Mayor before enjoying refreshments.

Next everyone boarded a bus that took us on a 2 hour tour through the city of Wilhelmshaven.

During which we saw many beautiful sites including old bridges, the Wilhelmshaven naval port, and the highest point of the city that is normally below sea level

The bus tour ended at a playground built for children. Here many of us found that we are definatdefinately still children at heart as we still enjoyed the park toys!

This was definately a favorite, though some managed to tip it and fall into the water, two times!

The group then began walking to the location of the welcome party. Some split and enjoyed ice cream before hand.

At the welcome party there was a lot of mingling, competitive tug-of-war games, fun, and amazing food!

The group then parted ways going home with their host families. Once home I began preparing for tomorrow, my third day here in Germany!
