Today, we did not have a group event scheduled, so everyone had a chance to relax and spend more time with our host families.
My family went shopping and did normal chores or things they needed for the rest of the week. We went to the typical German "Marktplatz" where they do their Grocery and basic needs shopping.
I got to see how the Deutsch sort their recycling. It is more extensive than in the USA, and is one of the reasons Germany is one of the most environmentally- conscientious countries in the world.
Then, after we had finished grocery shopping, we went home and began cooking Schnitzel Kartoffeln und Gemüse for Mittagsessen. Es war sehr Lecker! It was a lot of fun to cook with my host family.
Later, a little while after lunch, we went to the "DracheDrachen-Festival" or a Kite-Festival. It was the perfect day, sunny and very windy, great for kite flying. And there were plenty of small stands and shops, filled with food and souvenirs.
We had a fantastic time. We stayed for a little while, then went and hung out. It was a very good day.
